Job Role:
As a BIM / CAD Senior Technical Coordinator in an Interior Design Studio, your role involves overseeing the technical aspects of interior design projects and managing a team of technical coordinators. You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects meet quality standards and are completed on time and within budget. Here are some of the key tasks you will undertake in this position:
Project Management: Oversee the technical aspects of multiple projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and communication with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of technical coordinators, ensuring that everyone is meeting their deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
Technical Design: Review and approve technical drawings and blueprints created by the team, using software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit.
Codes and Regulations: Stay up-to-date with building codes and regulations, and ensure that all designs are compliant.
Specifications and Materials: Research and specify appropriate materials, products, and finishes for projects, taking into account factors such as durability, sustainability, and cost.
Coordination with Other Professionals: Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to coordinate schedules, budgets, and designs.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work meets quality standards and client expectations.
Budget Management: Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring that projects are completed within budget.
Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the design or construction process, and find solutions that meet project requirements.
Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding the technical aspects of the project, including providing progress updates, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
A BIM / CAD Senior Technical Coordinator’s role requires a deep understanding of technical aspects of interior design, strong project management skills, effective communication with both clients and other professionals, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of technical coordinators.
Background & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture or relevant industry.
Experience: 8-10 years’ experience as a Senior Technical Coordinator in an interior design office
Technical skills: Computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit
