Job Role:
As Junior Interior Designer in a boutique interior design firm, your role involves working closely with senior designers and contributing to the design and execution of projects. You will be responsible for supporting the design team and ensuring that all designs are innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. Here are some of the key tasks you will take on in this position:
Design Support: Support the senior designers in developing design concepts, selecting materials, and creating detailed design plans.
Design Execution: Work with the design team to execute designs, including creating technical drawings, selecting finishes, and coordinating with contractors and vendors.
Research: Conduct research on design trends, materials, and products to support the design process.
Coordination with Other Professionals: Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to coordinate schedules, budgets, and designs.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work meets quality standards and client expectations.
Client Communication: Assist with client communication, including providing progress updates, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
Budget Management: Support the project team with budget management, including tracking expenses and ensuring that projects are completed within budget.
Business Development: Support the senior designers in identifying new business opportunities and promoting the studio's services.
A Junior Interior Designer requires a strong understanding of design principles, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. You will be responsible for supporting the design team and contributing to the successful execution of projects. As you gain experience, you may have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities and eventually grow into a senior design role.
Background & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture or relevant industry
Experience: 2 years’ experience as an interior designer in an interior design office
Technical skills: Computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop
