Job Role:
As an Intermediate Interior Designer in a boutique interior design firm, your role will involve working on multiple projects and assuming increased responsibility throughout the design process. You will be responsible for contributing to the development of design concepts and creating detailed design plans. Here are some of the key tasks you will take on in this position:
Design Development: Collaborate with senior designers to develop and refine design concepts, ensuring they meet the needs and expectations of clients.
Design Execution: Create detailed design plans, including technical drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Material Selection: Select appropriate materials, finishes, and products for each project, taking into account factors such as durability, sustainability, and cost.
Coordination with Other Professionals: Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to coordinate schedules, budgets, and designs.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work meets quality standards and client expectations.
Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding the design aspects of the project, including providing regular progress updates, addressing questions and concerns, and ensuring timely responses.
Project Management: Oversee the design aspects of multiple projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and communication with clients, contractors, and vendors.
Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and work with the senior design team to promote the studio's services.
An Intermediate Interior Designer is required to possess strong design skills, effective project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both clients and other professionals, as well as work collaboratively within a team. You will be responsible for contributing to the successful execution of projects and ensuring that all work meets quality standards and client expectations. With experience and skill development, you may have the opportunity to take on more senior roles within the firm.
Background & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture or relevant industry
Experience: 5-8 years’ experience as an interior designer in an interior design office
Technical skills: Computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop
